first industrial test of autonomous machines in
tunnelling and quarry operations

For decades, heavy infrastructure projects like tunneling have been bound by the physical limits of human labor. Operators endure full shifts inside the cab exposed to hazardous conditions. Furthermore, because these projects are often far from population centers, productivity is constrained by long commutes, rigid shift schedules, and the sheer challenge of staffing remote sites.

The result of the old model is static operations: throughput is capped by operator coverage, and expensive machines sit idle when shifts end.

We took a standard 20-ton construction machine and installed the HIVE Silicon Brain in a matter of days. By integrating our AI module with Telia's ultra-reliable 5G standalone network, we transformed a legacy asset into an intelligent AI agent. No new equipment. No infrastructure rebuild. The existing fleet became the foundation, and the system went to work immediately.
