Traditionally, heavy-load handling equipment has required a designated operator to manually control the machine from an operator’s cabin situated on the machine itself. This conventional method of machine operation has historically restricted the task to one operator being bound to a single piece of equipment in a fixed location. This often places the operator in exposed environments, lacking the essential tools to meet productivity demands efficiently.

“At Hive Autonomy, we envision a radically different future for industrial load-handling equipment—a future where autonomous operations are managed from centralized office-based control centers, thereby reducing personnel safety risks, while significantly enhancing operational efficiency and profitability”, says Christoffer Jørgenvåg, CEO at Hive Autonomy.

Hive Autonomy is thrilled to unveil the first release of our remote operation station, designed for remote and autonomous control of logistics, warehousing, and industrial load-handling machinery. This release signals a new era in industrial operations, where an operator is no longer confined to a single machine and location but can now control multiple units simultaneously from centralized remote operation centers. Today’s launch introduces substantial advancements in safety and productivity, along with a reduction in operational costs by empowering operators to achieve more.

Developed as a fully integrated, standalone unit, the remote-control station only requires power and internet connectivity to function. Its design prioritizes flexibility concerning operational expansion and location independence and is machine application agnostic. It features customizable control inputs, including both joysticks and a wheel, as well as a flexible button layout to accommodate operational preferences.

For the management of autonomous operations, the station is equipped with a touchpad interface, allowing operators to seamlessly issue commands for autonomous tasks and to remotely control when necessary. This design philosophy is fundamental to our technology, developed to ensure operational productivity and durability.

We eagerly anticipate the deployment of our station at various significant locations, among others Yara, ASKO, and the Port of Moss in the upcoming months. Stay tuned for further insights into the future of remote and autonomous operations.
